About my site name;

  People often ask why the name of my website  is Falling Leaf Gallery when I paint Animals and Birds.
  Approximately 14 years ago, I was having lunch outdoors at my sister's home. I noticed beautiful Sycamore leaves on the ground. I gathered some leaves, took them home, and pressed them without a plan for their use. They simply appealed to my artistic sense of beauty. ( Pictures below )
  I asked my husband if he could visualize a design painted on these leaves. He replied that he could not. He was amazed when I showed him a winter scene painted on the leaf. It was stunning, the shape of the leaf enhanced the art work, A unique combination. had a copyright secured.
  Although I am no longer painting on leaves, I retain the name Falling Leaf Gallery.

About Me;

  I was born and grew up in Central California. Art has always come easy to me and has always been an  important part of my life.

 I was told my Father was a great artist and even got a scholarship to go further but had to pass it up to help his parents. My two older brothers were both extremely good artists in school. My Grandson dabled in art for a little while when he was younger and My granddaughters art abilities are showing up already at an early age.. Could it be in the genes?

I have always enjoyed art, even my kindergarten teacher told my parents “Wanda has trouble focusing in class, but she is very artistic.”    It was through my late husband’s encouragement that I pursued my artistic talent. He was one of my biggest supporters and fan, and at times my biggest critic.

 I feel he is still holding my hand and helping me to grow

I built an art studio in my home and began offering art classes. It became very popular and students often were put on a waiting list for the next class. I also worked with the charter schools and started teaching children. Children of ages between 8 to 18 were instructed in drawing, oil painting and several other mediums.

 Instructing was so enjoyable and rewarding!  What a pleasure to watch how they all grew in talent and interest and made me proud that I could share my talents in teaching as well as doing.

                                  I am owned by two parrots, two Black Headed Caiques .
                                Sadley I lost my Mackey and now all I have is My sweet MollyMay.

                   Thank you for visiting my website and I hope you enjoy my art.
